Waukegan — On Earth Day 2026, North Shore Gas is celebrating the 15-year anniversary of its Energy Efficiency Program. The program helps north suburban homeowners and businesses reduce energy use, which in turn supports the environment and lowers bills.
Data across 15 years of work shows huge environmental benefits:
- 26 million therms of energy saved
- Carbon emissions reduced by 139,000 tons
- More than $24 million in energy efficiency rebates to customers
North Shore Gas offers energy efficiency services and products to all residents plus small businesses, commercial buildings and industrial facilities. The work ranges from free and discounted thermostats and insulation to installing energy-efficient boilers, furnaces, gas heat pumps and water heaters. Full engineering studies are even offered for business and public-sector customers.
